A court ruling will eliminate the tip credit.

WHY YOUR INCOME & JOB ARE AT RISK:
THE CRISIS
THE MICHIGAN SUPREME COURT RULED ON July 31st THAT THE TIPPING SYSTEM AS WE KNOW IT WILL SOON BE GONE.
The court decided that a 2018 action taken by the legislature known as “Adopt and Amend” was unconstitutional. As a result, the restaurant industry will suffer because a 2018 proposal to eliminate the tip credit and increase the minimum wage will be in effect by February 2025— creating a devastating crisis six years later.
THE FALLOUT
Because the court ruled “Adopt and Amend” was unconstitutional, our industry will see a minimum wage increase coupled with the elimination of the tip credit. The impact of swift and unsustainable wage increases to an industry still recovering from the pandemic and inflation will be catastrophic for Michigan’s 2nd largest private employer, resulting in reduced income, a loss of 40,000 jobs and thousands of closed restaurants.
Tipping as we know it will be gone forever. Our jobs will be, too.
TAKE ACTION!
CALL ON THE MICHIGAN LEGISLATURE TO SAVE THE TIP CREDIT NOW!
The legislature can step in to end this crisis prior to the February 2025 implementation of a higher minimum wage & elimination of the tip credit.
To save the tipping system, your income and our jobs, take action now!
